The Care Provide Alliance publishes care home fee guidance

[ad_1]

New guidance on care home fees has published by The Care Provider Alliance (CPA).

The resources, which help care homes meet their obligations under consumer law, cover after death fees, annual fee increases and fee reviews following changes of circumstance, and have been developed with support of the Department of Health and Social Care.

Michael Voges CPA Chair said: “We are pleased to support the care home sector with its consumer law obligations and welcome hearing what more we could do to help ensure prospective and existing residents and their families get the information and advice they need to make choices and have the best experience possible within their care home service.”

The resources also include a CPA guide to the CMA consumer advice report that takes care homes through what they are being asked to do to ensure self-funders have clarity and transparency about the services for which they are paying.

Caroline Dinenage Minister for Care said:  “I am grateful that the Care Provider Alliance has published new guidance to help care homes comply with their responsibilities under consumer law. I urge all care homes to use the advice, incorporate the model clauses into contracts, and help embed best practice across the sector”
