MD resignation not linked to care home inquiry, Runwood Homes tells CHP

A newspaper report linking the resignation of Runwood Homes managing director Logan Logeswaran with a damning report documenting care home abuse has been dismissed as false by the care home provider. 

The report in The Belfast Telegraph linked the resignation of Mr Logeswaran this week with the publication of the report by the Commissioner of Older People, Eddie Lynch, which documents the “inhuman and degrading treatment of residents” at Dunmurry Manor in Northern Ireland (see UPDATED: Runwood Homes issues apology following ‘horrific’ report findings).

Runwood Homes Finance Director Martin Cooper told CHP: “I can assure you Logan has left for his own personal reasons and he has left on completely good terms with us. We wish him the best going forward.”

Earlier this week, Mr Logeswaran issued a statement on his resignation following 16 years’ service with Runwood Homes.

He told colleagues: “Runwood stands in a good place to continue with its success and I have every faith in the company that it will continue in this way.

“I take this opportunity to thank every one of you for the support you have given me in my role as Managing Director of Runwood Homes. I wish to see Runwood continue to achieve further success and your continued support and recognition is paramount for the company in providing compassionate and outstanding care for the residents.

“I am proud and privileged to have worked with all of you wish you all the best for the future.”
