Formerly Inadequate Barchester service celebrates Good rating

A Barchester care home that was assessed as Inadequate two years ago has been rated Good in all categories by the CQC.

Rothsay Grange Care Home in Andover, Hampshire, which was also rated Requires Improvement by the CQC in its previous inspection in 2017, completed its turnaround with a Good rating following an inspection in June.

General manager Jessica Salway told the Andover Advertiser: “It’s been dramatic change all for the positive and the staff have worked so hard to make this happen.”

The home’s previous inspection in March and April 2017 highlighted insufficient staffing and improvement required in quality audits and responses to complaints.

In its latest inspection the CQC noted: “We found at this inspection that improvements had been made in all previous areas of concern and the service had achieved an overall rating of Good.”

The report praised the “robust recruitment process” that ensured only suitable and qualified people were employed at the home.

The CQC said care was provided in a person centred manner and regular audits were carried out in order to provide safe and good quality care.

Jessica added: “We are delighted that Rothsay Grange was rated Good overall following the CQC’s most recent inspection. The team at Rothsay Grange always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home.”
