Ninety people from across the care sector donned their walking boots in the Care Workers Charity’s (CWC) annual challenge event.

The colleagues from 16 organisations joined the CWC to raise more than £35,000 in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

Alex Ramamurthy, CEO at the CWC, said: “I’m incredibly proud of and thankful to all those who participated in our annual challenge. This was one of the toughest challenges I have ever taken on, and I couldn’t have completed it without the camaraderie and support of my fellow team mates.

“These funds will allow us to help more care workers across the UK who find themselves in a crisis and need support. We hope everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will join us again next year.”

The route covered twenty-four and a half miles, including 1,585 metres of ascent over the Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside hills. The team took on this demanding route through the breath-taking British countryside against the clock, with only 12 hours to conquer steep climbs while battling the elements.
