Barchester Healthcare has begun work on three new care homes at sites across the country.
Adding to its portfolio of over 200 care homes and six independent hospitals, the provider has begun work in Solihull, Eastbourne and Sherborne.
Director of Property Services at Barchester Mark Bennett said: “My colleagues and I were very impressed with work we saw at the latest Barchester sites. We’re pleased to be working with three different construction teams to build our new signature Barchester homes, all designed with a high specification.

“Each new care home will be a positive addition to the communities we are building in, where we can deliver personalised care for those that need it, and provide employment for those that are passionate about caring for others.”
The Solihull home, which is being built by Seddon Construction Ltd, will accommodate 80 people, with the Eastbourne site, developed by McGoff Construction Ltd, having 80 beds and the Sherborne home, built by Acheson Construction Ltd, providing 64 beds.
The homes are scheduled to open in October, November and December 2019, respectively, and will provide personalised residential and specialist dementia care.
Andy Williams, Senior Property Development Manager at Barchester Healthcare, said: “We are very excited about the construction of our new care homes. All have their own unique design that suits the surrounding areas, but all share innovative Barchester trademarks that will accommodate our prospective residents, who will be able to enjoy a beautiful home with landscaped outdoor spaces.”
