Leading Scottish care provider Meallmore has introduced a leadership initiative to develop the care management skills of its top performers.
The new ILM accredited, four-day interactive programme, ‘Good to Great Leadership & Management Skills’, is open to employees in current management positions and also to individuals known as shining stars who are keen to progress their career to a management position.
Managing Director Gerry Hennessey said: “At Meallmore, we’re committed to delivering exceptional standards of care and our care home managers are a vital part of this as they have a hugely positive impact on residents, their families and carers.

“This is why we’re very excited to offer this ILM accredited programme to those keen to develop their leadership career within Meallmore. It provides them with the exact tools they need to build on their personal strengths and develop their leadership and management potential.”
The programme covers topics such as value led leadership, personal effectiveness, effective leadership communication, delivering positive outcomes and quality service, complaint handling, change management and budgeting skills.
St Modans Care Home Manager, Debbie Simpson, (pictured) who recently completed the scheme, said: “I left the programme with a fresh perspective and unique action plan which I have since put into practice and which has proved hugely beneficial on a day to day basis at the care home.
“The programme offers leaders a crystal clear view of how to use our management skills to our best advantage and how to continue inspiring leadership throughout Meallmore.”
Meallmore was recognised with a Silver Employer of the Year award in the 2017 Investors in People Awards.
