New Care announces £30m investment in Stockport care centres

Leading development led care home operator New Care has received planned consent for a £30m investment in two care centres in Stockport.

The approval covers the planning application for a 71-bed care home in Bramhall and a 68-bed facility on the site of a former pub in Cheadle. The homes are designed to meet a shortage of care home beds in the Stockport area.

CEO at New Care, Chris McGoff, said: “We are committed to bringing our award-winning care facilities to areas of the UK with an identified and well-documented need.

“The care crisis in Stockport is escalating; seven care homes have closed in the last two years resulting in the loss of 151 beds and we are pleased to help address this by delivering 139 new beds to the area.”

The privately funded ‘new generation’ care facilities, which will provide residential, nursing and specialist dementia care, will boast spacious and fully furnished bedrooms, complete with private en suite wet rooms, elegant communal lounges, fine dining rooms, spa assisted bathrooms, a hair salon, nail bar and beautifully landscaped gardens.

Construction of the schemes, which have been designed in partnership with Stockport Council, is set to launch later this year.
