Avery, Caring Homes and Hallmark among winners at Pinders Design Awards

Avery Healthcare, Caring Homes and Hallmark Care Homes were among those honoured at this year’s Pinders Healthcare Design Awards.

Avery, along with DWA and TDC Architects, took the award for Best Independent Living Scheme for The Hawthorns in Northampton.

Adrian Doyle, Director of Developments at Avery Group, said: “Main contractor Natta deserves much of the credit, with Alberto Gomez and Rob Winspear major contributors to the development. They delivered a stunning building for us and it’s great to see it win such valued independent sector recognition. We also have a great management team in the community now who are really working the facility well for the benefit of the residents.”

Hallmark Care Homes celebrated Arlington Manor, designed by architects Tooley & Foster, being named Best Care Home for the Elderly (medium development budget).

Hallmark Chair, Avnish Goyal said: “We are absolutely delighted that the hard work and vision of the past and present team has been recognised over the last ten years, having 11 care homes in the finals, winning Best New Care Home eight times.

“The team are really excited about continuing to innovate for the future and are looking forward to the next 10 years.”

Caring Homes took the prize for Best Care for the Elderly (higher development budget) for Riverside Place in Ware, designed by ADG Architects.

Caring Homes Managing Director Tracey Fletcher-Ray said: “We are delighted to have won this award at the prestigious Pinders Healthcare Design Awards this year.

“At Caring Homes, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care in the best possible surroundings with a focus on person centred care, clinical excellence and family values. To have our newest care home recognised within the care industry in this way is fantastic.”

Willowbrook Care Home in Birmingham, owned by Willowbrook Healthcare and designed by AP Architecture, took the prize for Best Care Home for the Elderly (lower development budget) with interior designs by dementia environment specialist, Little Islands.

Registered Manager and Clinical Director, Barry Flanagan, said: “The legacy of the work Little Islands have done for Willowbrook is to raise the quality of the environment and create resources that make a difference to the quality of life we can bring to the clients each and every day; a sense of value for the staff to work in an environment that is unique and positive.”

Best Regeneration Project was won by The Chocolate Quarter in Keynsham, owned by The St Monica Trust and designed by KWL Architects. Glebe Farm in Upton, Cambridgeshire, owned by Kingsley Healthcare and designed by Feilden-Mawson, took Best Project for Younger Adults.
