Care England conference to shine spotlight on workforce issues

The social care workforce will be the main focus of the Care England 2019 conference and exhibition.

This year’s event at the Church House Conference Centre on London on Wednesday, 13 November will centre on the social care workforce and the steps it’s taking to meet the challenges of effective care delivery in today’s economic climate.

Professor Martin Green OBE, Care England Chief Executive, said: “Many people, including other professionals, fail to appreciate the value of the social care workforce, so we need to make them aware and adopt a more focused approach to recruitment, retention and training. We’re also interested in demonstrating the role of new technologies in developing new care services that are fit for the 21st century. This conference will further underline how a skilled and dedicated workforce sits at the centre of exemplary care.”

Rachel Smith, Head of Business Systems and Management Information at Orchard Care Homes, will give a presentation on a revolutionary, bespoke software project which delivers a fully optimised rostering system to deliver significant time and cost savings for Orchard Care Homes.

Alyson Scurfield, Chief Executive of the TEC Services Association, will present up to date research findings on how today’s IT systems can support the effective delivery of care. Other speakers will be announced shortly.
