Anchor Hanover acquires five Hadrian Healthcare care homes

Anchor Hanover has acquired five Hadrian Healthcare care homes in Yorkshire and County Durham.

The deal covers The Manor House, Barnard Castle; Wetherby Manor, Wetherby (a winner of the Knight Frank Luxury Care Home award, pictured); The Manor House, Knaresborough; Oulton Manor, Leeds; and The Manor House, Harrogate.

Mark Greaves, Anchor Hanover’s Managing Director – Care Services, said: “Both Anchor Hanover and Hadrian Healthcare are organisations which are committed to high-quality, person-centred care – and we look forward to these homes becoming a key part of our care home offering. The addition of these five homes will broaden our provision of quality care in the North of England.

“Anchor Hanover is England’s largest provider of specialist housing and care for people in later life  – with eight homes rated ‘outstanding’ by the regulator, the Care Quality Commission.”

Four of the homes, which provide a total of 382 en-suite rooms, are rated ‘good’ by the CQC, with The Manor House, which opened last year, awaiting inspection.

More than 330 colleagues will be moved over to Anchor Hanover under the TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment) Regulations.

In conjunction with the acquisition of the business by Anchor Hanover, the properties were acquired by the Lime Property Fund managed by Aviva Investors. Each home is subject to a lease to Anchor Hanover providing for a secure 35-year term and an option for Anchor Hanover to extend this term for a further 10 years.
