Balhousie care home welcomes new manager

Qualified mental health nurse Pablo Vilar has been appointed the new manager of Balhousie Care Group’s home in Pitlochry, Perthshire. 

Pablo, who joins Balhousie from another care home company in Inverness, brings a wealth of experience to the role, from trouble shooting in an operations role to his people-facing work in bar and restaurants before going to university.

“Every job I have ever done has allowed me to work closely with people which is something I’ve always enjoyed,” Pablo said.

“Training to become a mental health nurse and working in the care sector is really an extension of that and enabled me to work with people a bit more formally.

“There’s a great team here who have been very welcoming and I’m gradually getting to know them all as well as the residents. I’m really looking forward to building on the work that has already been done here, continuing to build the strong links we have with the local community as well as establish new ones. I also plan to continue giving our residents a say in how the care home is run – it is their home after all.”
