Representatives from construction contractor Stepnell, care home provider Baycroft and care home developer Frontier have celebrated two construction milestones in Bedfordshire.
Stepnell site manager David Beasley and project manager Mark Glanville positioned the final roof tiles at two £8m care homes in Hitchin Road, Fairfield and Ampthill Road, Flitwick, respectively.
“Our topping out event marks an important moment in the construction programme for these high-specification care home buildings,” said Stepnell construction director Bill Haynes.

“We were delighted to join with Baycroft and Frontier to celebrate and now look forward to completing these fantastic facilities which will deliver ‘new generation’-style care accommodation for residents in Bedfordshire.”
Designed by architects Harris Irwin Associates, the care homes will each offer 75 en-suite bedrooms, plus extensive communal facilities for leisure and entertainment. Both homes will offer a cinema room, gym, café, hair and beauty salon, guest accommodation as well as a children’s play area for visitors.
Baycroft managing director Andrew Winstanley said: “We are excited to be at this topping out stage of the projects and close to introducing two beautiful, high-quality care homes in Bedfordshire. It has been a pleasure to partner with Stepnell and Frontier as we all shared an aspirational vision for these homes.”
Luke Harris, head of construction for Frontier added: “We are very pleased to be partnering with both Baycroft and Stepnell across these two projects and today signifies a significant moment for Frontier as a care home developer. We continue to watch the projects develop and are excited to see these two luxurious care homes evolve.”
