Hadrian Healthcare celebrates first CQC Outstanding

North East care home provider Hadrian Healthcare has celebrated achieving its first CQC Outstanding.

The Manor House Whickham in Gateshead joined the top 3.5% of adult social care services following an inspection in July.

Home manager Jane Tworkowski said: “I’m so proud of the entire team on receiving this fantastic Outstanding CQC rating. At The Manor House, we put our residents at the heart of everything we do. We have some wonderful staff, delivering an exceptional service to our residents and I am delighted that this has been officially recognised.”

Mary Potts, a resident at the home for over three years, said: “At The Manor House, the residents are extremely well cared for and our well-being is at the centre of everything the staff do for us. In addition, the attention given to all aspects of running the home is first class and makes for a clean and comfortable environment to live in.”

The report said the home had forged and maintained excellent links with health and social care professionals and the local community, adding: “These had a demonstrably positive impact on the emotional wellbeing of people using the service and also meant the local community became more a part of the service. This was exceptional.”

Operations director Morag Purvis said: “I am absolutely delighted for the management, staff and residents at The Manor House Whickham. Person-centred care and support is always at the heart of everything in the home and this is clearly reflected in the CQC report and the overall assessment outcome of Outstanding.”

Hadrian Healthcare Group currently owns and operates two care homes in the North East, in Whickham and Gosforth. The Group sold five homes in Yorkshire and County Durham earlier this year and these are now operated by Anchor Hanover Group and owned by Aviva Investors. Hadrian Healthcare Group is planning to create a number of new care developments across the UK.
