Hartford Care appoints nursing home general manager

Lesley Wise has been appointed general manager of The Elms Nursing Home on the Isle of Wight.

She will take full responsibility for the day to day running of the 48-bed care home, which recently celebrated its first anniversary following its acquisition from Scio Healthcare.

Lesley said: “I was attracted to joining the Hartford Care group because I like the values of being part of a ‘family’. My goal for care at The Elms, is to treat residents, staff, family and guests the way I would like to be treated. I want to ensure people have fun in life, doing what is important to them.

“I look forward to supporting our residents to live a life with purpose, kindness and consideration so they can receive the support they need. I see my role as a leader, motivator, teacher, ambassador, and nurturer and I am thrilled to be working with the team at The Elms and the Hartford Care team.”

Lesley, a registered nurse, has extensive experience of running care homes for over 11 years.

Located in the village of Bembridge on the most easterly point of the Island, The Elms is an Edwardian property with a purpose-built wing, which was originally adapted from a former hotel.
