HC-One and Barchester rank sixth and seventh among the UK’s top selling private, mid-market companies.
The Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table ranks the UK’s private mid-market growth companies by the biggest sales in the last year.
Darlington headquartered HC-One, which employs more than 25,000 people, ranked sixth with sales of £639.1m.
Justin Hutchens, Chief Executive of HC-One, said: “I am delighted by the news that HC-One has been ranked sixth in the annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250, a huge step up from our number 49 ranking last year. This achievement would not have been possible without the hard work of all my colleagues.
“Every single person in this organisation shows outstanding dedication day-in and day-out to achieving our aim of providing the kindest care to older people and I am hugely proud of them. We look forward to building upon this growth to ensure all the communities we serve benefit from the highest quality care services.”
London head quartered Barchester Health Care, which employs more than 15,000 people, followed HC-One in seventh place with sales of £621.3m.
Dr Pete Calveley, CEO of Barchester Healthcare, said: “Our continually improving commercial performance is built on the foundations of our Quality First programme which has seen our CQC Good and Outstanding ratings improve to their highest level ever. The excellent results are allowing us to further invest in our major refurbishment and new build programmes together with our sector-leading staff bonus, benefits and recognition schemes.”
