Huntercombe Group strengthens management team with two senior appointments

The Huntercombe Group, a provider of specialised services in mental health and brain injury on behalf of the NHS, has made two senior appointments.

The group has appointed Philip King as director of nursing and assurance, and Siân Wicks joins as improvement director of children’s services.

Both hired have been made as part of the group’s continued mission to improve the quality of its clinical services and governance.

King’s remit will include continuous quality improvement, safeguarding, clinical supervision and nurse development and career pathways. He will work closely with Dr. Amlan Basu, group medical director.

King boasts 30 years’ of experience in the delivery, management and regulation of mental health services. He has consulted extensively in community mental health and acute mental health services. He is qualified as a mental health nurse and has completed a Master’s Degree in Mental Health at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Incoming improvement director, Wicks, is an executive nurse who is an experienced board and non-executive board director in health and social care for children and adults. She has over 34 years of clinical, safeguarding, risk, and governance experience in the NHS, independent and not for profit sector, across child and adolescent mental health, learning disabilities, autism, looked after children and education.

The Huntercombe Group cares for over 700 patients and residents each day in 23 hospitals and specialist centres providing services for young people with mental illnesses, adults with mental illnesses or learning difficulties, and people who have suffered a brain injury.
