Lancashire care home to include community hub

A new care home due to officially open next month in Leigh, Lancashire includes a free space for charities, social workers and community groups.

‘The Hub’ is part of Exemplar Healthcare’s Lakeview care home, which provides care and support to individuals with complex dementia, mental ill-health, brain injuries, Huntington’s disease and other neuro-disabilities.

Home manger Jo Roughley said: “We are passionate about the power of communities. The vast majority of our colleagues and residents are from the local community, and The Hub offers a chance for us to support the causes close to their hearts.

“We appreciate how hard it can be for voluntary and charitable initiatives to find reliable, private venues without losing valuable funds, so we’re really looking forward to hosting them in The Hub.”

Facilities in The Hub, which provides the perfect space for fundraising events, clinics, support groups, coffee mornings and training, include a kitchen, breakout room and large seating area.
