Legal advice charity seeks care providers’ backing
[ad_1]
A legal advice charity seeking proper lawful funding for care clients, is seeking the backing of care and support providers.
CASCAIDr is seeking support via donations or through purchase of its services, which offer expert advice and training on care commissioning. Founder Belinda Schwehr (pictured) said that by ensuring clients get a proper personal care budget, CASCAIDr can help care home providers remain viable.
Belinda said: “If someone’s personal care budget has been cut unlawfully, the fee that’s available to pay the provider will also have been cut.
“Many providers think they have no option but to take that reduced sum.
“Being seen to be standing up for the client’s public law rights is something we hope care providers will be proud of.
“We want to help people who aren’t being given advocacy rights or haven’t been assessed properly, or whose plans have been savagely cut.
Belinda, a specialist on the Care Act, is a lawyer, social care trainer and advisory consultant with 20 years’ experience in the adult social care field.
Previously, she has been an advisor to ADASS, TLAP, the Department of Health, the local government ombudsman, CCGs and a number of care providers, including Barchester Healthcare, Hesley and the Priory Group.
