Brunelcare has unveiled Oona Goldsworthy as its new chief executive officer and has tasked her with reshaping the future of the business.

The Bristol-based charity announced that Goldsworthy, who joined to company earlier this month, will be working alongside the Brunel board to develop a new direction for the organisation.

Previously the CEO of United Communties housing association, Goldsworthy grew the organisation into one of the leading providers of affordable homes in Bristol.

Goldsworthy is committed to improving the choices available for the elderly by providing safe, affordable homes and communities alongside exceptional care.

Since her early 20’s, Goldsworthy has been campaigning for fairer priced homes and was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to research global housing infrastructure in 2017 and hopes to bring her experience to her new role at Brunelcare.

On her appointment, Goldsworthy said: “I’m very excited about starting my journey as CEO at Brunelcare, it’s a fantastic organisation with a long legacy of pioneering in terms of design and care provision, which I intend to build upon.

“I’m looking forward to re-imagining the next era for Brunelcare as we gear up to ‘baby boomers’ expectations for different types of homes and care, with over 65’s making up 28% of the population by 2025.”
