Person Centred Software celebrates first anniversary of Australia launch

Person Centred Software is this month celebrating the first anniversary of the launch of its Mobile Care Monitoring (MCM) system in Australia and New Zealand.

Currently 14 care homes across Australia and New Zealand are using MCM with another 18 homes due to implement in the next ten weeks.

Tammy Sherwood, CEO of Person Centred Software Australia, said: “I am proud to offer our customers the same electronic care planning and reporting system as care homes in the UK, enabling everyone involved in providing care to evidence care at the point of delivery, monitor care in real time and give family members access through the Relatives Gateway. This provides full transparency and measurability within residents’ care, which is just as crucial in Australia as it is in the UK. By the end of June, over 1,500 residents’ quality of care will be supported in this way.”

Of the 20 organisations that have chosen the company’s electronic care planning and reporting system, eight moved from documenting care on paper and 12 moved from using another electronic care system. Almost all providers in the UK move to using MCM from recording care on paper, whereas more than half of care homes using MCM in Australia and New Zealand had previously been using another electronic care planning system.

Southport Lodge in Queensland, Australia was the first care home to use MCM, and successfully passed accreditation in September 2018.

Lorraine Garland, Southport Lodge General Manager, said: “We don’t have a single staff member who doesn’t like the system. With care-giving there’s often an overwhelming amount of documentation. Now using MCM, report writing is so quick and easy and we’re spending 25% more time with our residents.”
