Sunrise Senior Living UK and Gracewell Healthcare health and safety advisor, Rebecca Brooks, has secured a seat on the National Association for Safety and Health in Care Services (NASHICS) board.
Rebecca (pictured centre with Sunrise and Gracewell Director of Care and Quality, Joanne Balmer, left, and UK CEO, Natalie-Jane Macdonald) is one of eight health and safety professionals on the panel, which includes a range of care providers voted into the national committee.
Joanne Balmer, Senior Director of Care and Quality at Sunrise and Gracewell, said: “Congratulations to Rebecca for her success in being selected. It is a wonderful achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of her and the rest of the team at Sunrise and Gracewell. I am sure Rebecca will do an exceptional job of sharing best practice and initiatives that we are progressing with as an organisation.
“This is also a great opportunity for us to learn more from the other organisations. Health and safety is vital when looking after older people and we proud of the work that we do in this area. We look forward to working with individuals across the sector via this committee.”
NASHICS promotes excellence of safety and health in care services and offers guidance, advice and support to care providers across the country. The board plays a vital role in improving the safety and health within care services and provides a space for individuals and organisations involved in any aspect of safety and health to exchange and share information, experience and expertise.
As part of her role on the panel, Rebecca must attend at least four of the group’s forums, assist in sharing best practice. She will also be asked to present sessions at forums.
