Tenlands becomes HC-One’s fifth ‘outstanding’ care home

Tenlands Care Home in Ferryhill, County Durham has become the fifth HC-One service to be rated ‘outstanding’.
The nursing home, which provides care for up to 39 people, joined the top 3% of adult social care services with the CQC’s top rating following its latest inspection.
HC-One Tenlands Care Home Manager, Victoria Leighton, said: “We are delighted with this report which is a testament to the hard work and kind care that each and every member of the team puts in, day in day out.”

The CQC praised the day-to-day kindness and compassion staff provided residents. Residents echoed this, commenting: “I’m happy, safe; to be honest everything is great.” “The nurses are brilliant, the best around here,” and “I am so happy to be here, everyone is so helpful.”
Tenlands provides residents with an active lifestyle taking them on regular trips to the beach, countryside and local cafes. The home’s activity programme includes a Reiki healer and virtual reality headsets are used to provide residents with tours of the local towns and countryside.
