Yorkshire based care home provider Clifton St Anne’s is celebrating after The Millings in Bedale received its second ‘outstanding’ rating from the CQC.

The home retained its top CQC rating following an inspection in April. Clifton St Anne’s other home, St John’s House, also retained its ‘outstanding’ rating in March.

Managing director Lou Squires told CHP: “We were all absolutely thrilled to hear that we’d achieved outstanding in four of the five KLOEs.

“To have now achieved that in both of our homes is truly amazing as we knew that we’d continued to work hard but wouldn’t take any kind of success for granted.

“It was a complete team effort and it was lovely to see all members of our community celebrating and feeling proud of what we’ve all done together.

“We’re determined to keep getting better and are focussed on improving in all areas and hopefully achieving outstanding in the elusive ‘safe’ KLOE.”

The CQC praised the “exceptional” leadership of The Millings, describing the service as “exceptionally welcoming and homely”.

Inspectors also highlighted the home’s “exceptional” partnerships, which included a project with Bradford University that had resulted in a 45% drop in falls. Residents also have access to online consultations with healthcare professionals through an Immedicare system.

People at the service are also matched with carers on their basis of interests and hobbies and are each provided with two ‘care partners’ to support their needs.
